Robot...As a word, robot is a relative newcomer to the English language. It was the from Czech playwright, novelist and journalist named Karel Čapek (1880-1938) who introduced it in his 1920 hit play, R.U.R., or Rossum's Universal Robots.
Cyborg...short for "cybernetic organism".
Quantum...The word "quantum" comes from the Latin "quantus," for "how much."
Nanotechnology ...Nano is a prefix meaning "extremely small." When quantifiable, it translates to one-billionth, as in the nanosecond . Nano comes from the Greek word "nanos," meaning "dwarf."
